How to Bake Healthy Chocolate Protein Brownies

Now, let’s jump into the fun part – baking these goodies.

  • 1/2 cup of your preferred protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) mine can be found here
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of almond flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt or unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional add-ins: dark chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a swirl of nut butter

  • Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the protein powder, cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Mix them together well.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt (or applesauce), honey (or maple syrup), almond butter (or peanut butter), egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  • Mix It All Together: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until you have a thick, smooth batter.
  • Add Your Touch: If you like, include extras like dark chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a swirl of nut butter.
  • Bake It Up: Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Baking Time: Bake for around 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Don’t overbake; you want them nice and fudgy.
  • Cool and Cut: Let the brownies cool in the pan, then lift them out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and enjoy!
